We are thrilled to announce that Vasiliki Michopoulou, a member of the Science Communication team at Twin4Promis, has been awarded a fellowship to participate in the 2024 Kavli Prize Week, including the award ceremony. This prestigious event, held from August 31st to September 3rd in Oslo, celebrates her as the first Greek science journalist and the only European fellowship recipient this year.
The Kavli Prize, established to honor extraordinary contributions in the fields of astrophysics, nanoscience, and neuroscience, was awarded by the Norwegian Academy of Science and Letters in June with eight scientists recognized for their pioneering research. While the Kavli Prize is often compared to the Nobel Prize in terms of prestige, it recognizes achievements without a specific time frame, unlike the Nobel, which focuses on recent accomplishments. This allows the Kavli Prize to acknowledge a wider range of scientific excellence.
Twin4Promis is proud of Mrs. Michopoulou’s honor and wishes her more such recognitions in the future!
