Dr. Tom Geerinckx

Tom Geerinckx did his PhD in evolutionary biology and became a postdoctoral researcher at Ghent University faculty of Sciences, and was also active as lecturer, teaching in the faculties of Medicine, Pharmaceutical Sciences and Veterinary Sciences as well. In 2019, he became policy advisor within the Research Directorate of Ghent University, responsible for various topics within research ethics. From this role, he is active in various working groups within and outside his institution and helps support animal research and testing policy.
He advises researchers and helps to set out the guidelines within the university regarding various ethical issues in international collaborations, and regarding research in biological and medical contexts, and sustainability in research.
