A delegation from the National Hellenic Research Foundation (NHRF), comprising members including Dr. Georgios Skretas, Principal Investigator and Coordinator of Twin4Promis; Mrs. Ioanna Petrohilou, NHRF Administrative Director; Mrs. Kleri Foniadaki, Head of NHRF Grants Office; Dr. Dimitra Zarafeta, Twin4Promis Project Manager; and Dr. Maria Chatzidaki, Twin4Promis Science Communication Officer, were hosted at the VIB Swift Lab and VIB headquarters from March 19th to 22nd, 2024. This visit was facilitated by VIB Switch Laboratory at the Center for Brain and Disease Research in Leuven, as well as VIB headquarters in Ghent.
During this period, our delegation engaged in a series of productive discussions and informative seminars. Topics covered included effective strategies for research dissemination and communication, navigating the intricacies of technology transfer and intellectual property, and fostering inclusion and diversity within scientific endeavors. These sessions provided invaluable insights and fostered a spirit of collaboration and innovation among participants.
Additionally, discussions revolved around the recruitment and retention of talented scientists, the importance of mentorship, and methods to support the career development of emerging talents, both domestically and internationally.
We are grateful for the warm hospitality extended to us by VIB Switch Laboratory and VIB headquarters, and we look forward to continuing our collaborative efforts towards advancing scientific research and innovation.
