We are excited to share our experience from the Mediterranean Researchers’ Night (Mednight) 2024. Our young researcher, Effie Karyda, had the unique opportunity to participate in the 5th meeting between young researchers and schools during this year’s event. The gathering attracted an impressive turnout, with over 60 schools and approximately 1,500 students from across Greece participating. This strong engagement reflects the enthusiasm and commitment of educators and students in pursuing scientific inquiry and learning.
Mednight, also known as Mediterranean Researchers’ Night, is a European initiative designed to make science engaging and accessible to audiences of all ages. The event features a diverse range of activities, including interactive workshops, scientific demonstrations, lectures, and exhibitions, creating a valuable opportunity for the public to appreciate both science and culture.
Twin4Promis would like to congratulate Effie for her insightful presentation on “Bacteria: The Key to Combat Diseases Caused by Protein Misfolding.” As Effie expressed, “It was a great opportunity not only to share my research but also to engage with students and actively discuss the life of a PhD student, as well as my personal journey into the field of science.”
The success of this event reinforces our dedication to reinforce a passion for science among young people. We eagerly anticipate future opportunities to participate in Mednight!
