Poster Award at the 15th European Biophysics Congress for Twin4Promis-Linked Research

Rome, Italy | July 2025

We are proud to announce that research supported by the Twin4Promis was awarded a Poster Prize at the 15th European Biophysics Congress (EBSA 2025), held in Rome from 30 June to 4 July 2025.

The award was presented to Effie Karyda, PhD student at the Skretas Lab for her poster entitled:

“Biomolecular high-throughput screening for protein misfolding diseases: Cyclic peptides as novel rescuers of crystallin aggregation in cataracts.”

1751644261980

This research focuses on the development of a high-throughput screening platform for the identification of cyclic peptide-based therapeutics targeting misfolded crystallin proteins, a major cause of cataract formation.

🔬 This work, carried out jointly by the Skretas Lab and our Twin4Promis Advanced Partner, the VIB Switch Laboratory (VIB–KU Leuven), highlights how international research collaboration can yield meaningful scientific advances.

The EBSA Poster Award recognizes outstanding contributions to the field of biophysics by early-career researchers and is a testament to the scientific excellence and innovation promoted through the Twin4Promis collaboration framework.
